“在去年我們第一次合作之前，男孩女孩俱樂部一直為他們的俱樂部成員舉辦小型的聖誕晚會，他們會有一名工作人員裝扮成‘聖誕老人’。去年，我們聘請了一個真正的‘聖誕老人’來到這個活動，彌補了活動缺乏的節日氣氛，所有的俱樂部成員都非常興奮能夠看到聖誕老人。我們計畫今年再把聖誕老人請回來！
“去年，娛樂占了我們預算的很大一部分。我們有迪士尼的角色，比如米老鼠，米妮，唐老鴨和高飛。購買的其他物品有：制雪機、棉花糖車、爆米花車和聖誕裝飾品。所有這些小的元素使我們的活動變得成功，所有的俱樂部成員都得到了驚喜！”

We Are the Ones Who Make a Brighter Day!
Heal Los Angeles is proud to announce that we are hosting our 2nd Annual Christmas Celebration! This event will take place on December 15th and will be hosted at a local Boys & Girls Club in the Los Angeles area. Last year, we raised over $8,500 and this year we are hoping that we can hit our goal of $13,000.
Our goal is to raise more money this year because we want to provide the best Christmas experience possible! Most of these club members are coming from low income homes and their families cannot afford to celebrate at home this year. It was evident that the event last year left a profoundly positive effect on the club members, and we know we can do even better this year.
Here are some quick stories of how the money was spent last year:
• Every Boys & Girls Club member wrote a letter to Santa Claus and the letters that we read touched our hearts because every child was going through their own struggles. No child should go through those challenging times at such an early age. We were also to cater to (87) club members wish list. For one club member, we bought a whole new bed for him since he has been sleeping on the floor.
• Before our first collaboration last year, the Boys & Girls Club always had a small Christmas party for their club members and they always had to use a staff member to be “Santa Claus.” Last year, we hired a real look-a-like Santa Claus to come to the event and this helped create the festive atmosphere that the event was lacking. All the club members were extremely excited to see Santa Claus and we plan to bring back Santa Claus again this year!
• Providing entertainment at our event last year took a large part of our budget. We had Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Mini Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Other things that were purchased were: snow machine, cotton candy cart, popcorn cart, and Christmas decorations. All of these small elements are what made our event so successful and all the club members had a blast!
