Out in the night sky, a ship was descending, the hull glowing with soft light, as if a piece of the moon has fallen...
夜空中，一隻飛船從天外飛落而來，船身籠罩在柔和的光暈裏，仿佛是月亮上飄下的碎片。
The hatch opened and the crew came out - odd little beings moving quietly through the leaves, gathering, gathering...
船艙開啟，船員走了出來——是些多麼奇怪的小生物，靜悄悄地在樹葉間移動，找尋著，採集著……
A blackberry bush, a rose, a tiny cedar tree...
一棵黑莓灌木，一株玫瑰，一小棵雪松……
...When suddenly - mam came -
突然——有人來了——
One of the little beings was cut off, trapped in the trees, separated from his ship.
其中一個小生物脫了群兒，困在草木當中。返回飛船的路被阻隔了。
He ran as fast as his short legs would carry him.
他以他的小短腿所能達到的最快的速度拼命地跑，
His chest glowing red, a signal to the crew that he needed help.
他的胸部閃著紅光，這是他向船員求救的信號。
His ship was ahead, glowing through the branches. He stumbled towards it, but the hatch was closing, and the crew was leaving.
他的飛船就在前方，亮光從樹枝間透過來。他朝著它跌了一交，可是船艙卻在關閉，船員即將離去。

The ship lifted off, like the moon slowly rising, then soared away, a comet swallowed by the night.
飛船離地，好象是月亮慢慢地升起，而後就飛遠了，如同被黑夜吞沒的彗星。
The creature's heartlight faded. He was alone, three million light years from home.
那外星生物的心光變暗了，他現在孤身一人，離家有三千萬光年之遙。
The lights of the city twinkled in the valley, below the little being.
他下方山谷裏的城市，燈光點點。
The friendlest light was coming from a kichen window, at a boy named Elliott's house.
顯得最友好的亮光是從一間廚房的窗戶裏發出來的，那是一個名叫艾略特的男孩的家。
The big guys playing inside made Elliott wait out front for their pizza delivery.
幾個“大個兒”在屋裏玩牌，卻讓艾略特出去等他們訂的披薩餅。
Out back, the creature crawled into the yard and hid in a toolshed.
而屋後，外星生物爬進了後院，並藏在了工具棚裏。
ELLIOTT: Havey? Havey, is that you boy?
艾略特：哈威？哈威，是你嗎？
Elliott, looking for his dag in the backyard, heard strange noises coming from the toolshed. He picked up his baseball abd threw it in. Whatever it was in there, whipped it right back.
艾略特在後院找他的狗，聽見從工具棚裏發出了奇怪的聲音。他撿起他的棒球，投了進去。不知裏面到底是什麼東西，立刻把它打了回來。
ELLIOTT: Mom, Mom, there's someone out there. It's in the toolshed. It threw the ball at me...Quiet! Don't nobody go out there.
艾略特：媽媽，媽媽，外面有什麼人，在工具棚裏，還向我扔球呢……安靜，聽著！誰也不要出去。
Elliott fell asleep that night, with all kinds of strange dreams in his head.
那晚，艾略特睡著後，各種各樣的怪夢都跑進他腦袋裏來了。
And the squashy little guy from outer space came creeping back into the garden, as quiet as he could...
而那個皺皺巴巴、外太空來的小傢伙，又小心翼翼地爬回了花園裏……
But those funny feet of his tripped him up in a garbage can...
但是他那雙有趣的腳讓他絆倒在一隻垃圾桶上……
Elliott heard it and came running out. He chased whatever it was behind the house.
艾略特聽見後跑了出來。也不管究竟是何物，他只顧在屋後猛追。
But he wasn't sure that he really wanted to catch up. Suddenly, it stopped, and turned.
但他也不肯定他真是希望能追上。突然，那東西停住，轉過身來。

Next day, Elliott went into the woods...
第二天，艾略特去了樹林裏……
ELLIOTT: Hel-lo-ooo.
艾略特：你-好——
He laid a trail of little candies, one after another, and then went back home.
他丟下小糖果粒兒，一顆接著一顆，在地上成了一串兒，然後他就回家了。
E.T.crawled from the bushes.
E.T.從樹叢中爬了出來。
We all know curiosity killed the cat, but he was too old to change now.
俗話說，好奇心會要了一隻貓的命，但是，習慣成自然，何況E.T.的年齡可不小了，一時半會兒是改不了啦。
He put the little round object in his mouth.
他把一個小圓豆兒放在口中。
It was delicious, the tastiest thing he'd ever eaten in the whole universe.
味道不錯，他所吃過的東西中，這是全宇宙最可口的食物。
MARY: It's not that we don't believe you, honey.
媽媽瑪莉亞：不是我們不相信你，寶貝兒。
ELLIOTT: Well, it was real, I swear.
艾略特：可這是真的，我發誓。
MICHAEL: Maybe it was an iguana.
哥哥邁克爾：也許是只蜥蜴
ELLIOTT: It was not an iguana.
艾略特：才不是只蜥蜴呢。
MICHAEL: Maybe, ah, ah, you know they say there are alligators in the sewers.
哥哥邁克爾：也許，啊，啊，你知道嗎，人們都說下水道裏有鱷魚。
GERTIE: Alligators in the sewers.
妹妹歌蒂：下水道裏的鱷魚。
MARY: All we're trying to say is, maybe you just probably imagined it.
媽媽瑪莉亞：總之，我們想說的就是，也許那只是出於你想像的幻覺。
ELLIOTT: I couldn't have imagined it!
艾略特：那不可能是我想像出來的！
Elliott had a hunch that this might be the night.
直覺告訴艾略特，不尋常的事就要發生了，就在今晚。
So he waited outside in an old chair, and sure enough, the strange creature appeared; someone from anther world.
於是他坐在屋外的一把舊椅子上等待，確切無疑，那奇怪的生物出現了——從另一個世界而來。
Elliott's heart almost stopped.
艾略特的心跳都快停止了。
ELLIOTT:...Mom...Mom...Michael...Michael...Mom.
艾略特：媽媽……媽媽……邁克……邁克……媽媽。
E.T. was just as scared as Elliott, but he had to hang in there; after all, he had to eat, he had to live.
E.T.也和艾略特一樣害怕，但是他還是得在此逗留；畢竟，他要想活下去，他必須吃東西。
So he followed Elliott with the candy, into the house, and up the stairs.
於是他跟著艾略特和他的糖果，進了屋，來到樓上。
ELLIOTT: Wow...
艾略特：哇……
The two friends found each other, across a thousand universes-- and fell asleep.
兩個朋友，穿越了浩瀚的宇宙，彼此相見了——而後他們就睡著了。
Next day...
第二天……
ELLIOTT: Do you talk? You know, talk? Me human. Boy. Elliott, El-li-ott, Elliott.
艾略特：你會說話嗎？你知道說話嗎？我，人類。男孩兒，艾略特，艾——略——特，艾略特。
These are toys, these are little men.
這些是玩具，是些小人兒，
This is Greedo, and then this is Hammerhead. See, this is Walrus Man. And then this is snaggletooth. And this is Lando Calrissian. See? And this is Babo Fett.
這是格瑞多，還有這是鐵錘腦袋。看這個是海象人。還有，這是獠牙怪。這是藍多•卡爾瑞希安。瞧見沒？這是胖胖頭。
And look, they can even have wars. Look at this. Argghhh...
瞧，他們還可以打仗呢。瞧這個。啊——
But how do you share the greatest secret in the world?
但是你會如何與別人分享這世界上最大的秘密呢？。
ELLIOTT: Now, swear it, the most excellent promise you can make. Swear, as my only brother on our lives...
艾略特：現在發誓，要發最重的誓。作為我唯一的哥哥，用我們的生命起誓……
MICHAEL: Okay, don't get so heavy. I swear.
邁克爾：好了，別那麼正經八百的。我發誓就是了。
ELLIOTT: ...and, um, close your eyes.
艾略特：……還有，嗯，閉上你的眼睛。
MICHAEL: OK, they're closed.
邁克爾：好，閉上了
ELLIOTT: OK, uh, swear it, one more time. I have absolute -
艾略特：好，再發一次誓。我有絕對的——
MICHAEL: You have absolute power...Yes.
邁克爾：你有絕對的權利……沒錯。
What he saw blew his mind. But Elliott was hoping that his little sister would handle the situation better.
邁克爾睜眼一看——他簡直是不知所措。而艾略特本以為他的小妹妹不會像他那樣大驚失色，還想她能幫他們緩解緩解氣氛呢。
GERTIE: Elliott...look what I made for you...
歌蒂：艾略特……看我給你做的……
And what do you do with something as wild as this weird squashy little guy with a head shaped like an eggplant?
如果瞧見這個怪模怪樣、渾身皺巴巴、腦袋形狀像個茄子的小東西的人是你，你會對如此瘋狂的事物作何反應呢？
ELLIOTT: I'm keeping him.
艾略特：我要留下他。
GERTIE: What is it?
歌蒂：他是什麼？
ELLIOTT: He won't hurt you, Gertie. He won't hurt you.
艾略特：他不會傷害你的，歌蒂。他不會傷害你。
But some other people are looking for E.T., also. Tall shadows with flashlights, keys and heavy shoes, and they went to keep him, too.
但是還有其他人也在尋找E.T. 帶著手電筒的、掛著鑰匙的、穿著大笨鞋的長影子們，他們也想要E.T.
Meanwhile, Elliott, Michael and Gertie brought their new friend a potted flower as a gift.
這會兒，艾略特、邁克爾和歌蒂拿來一盆花，作為禮物送給了他們的新朋友。
ELLIOTT: We are here. Where are you from?
艾略特：我們在這。你打哪來？
GERTIE:I don't like his feet.
歌蒂：我不喜歡他的腳。
ELLIOTT: They're only feet, you little twerp. He's trying to tell us something.
艾略特：腳就是腳，你個小矮子。他想跟咱們說什麼。
E.T.: ur ... ur ...rrrr...rrrr...
ELLIOTT: What's he doing?
艾略特：他在幹什麼？
GERTIE: What's happening?
歌蒂：怎麼回事兒？
With the point of his finger, E.T.'s magical powers raised five balls up into the air, and floated them there above everybody's head.
隨著他手指伸出，E.T.的神奇力量使五個球升起來，浮在空中，飄在他們的頭頂上方。
MICHAEL: Elliott.
ELLIOTT:: Oh, no.
Then E.T. quiet retired in the closet, with his flower pod, leaving Elliott, Michael and Gertie to go off to school.
然後E.T.拿著他的盆栽安靜地藏到壁櫥裏去休息，剩下的這三人——艾略特、邁克爾和歌蒂去學校上學。
MICHAEL: Did you explain school to him?
邁克爾：你向他解釋學校是怎麼一回事了嗎？
ELLIOTT: How could you explain school to higher intelligence?
艾略特：怎麼可能跟比我們智商要高的生物說清楚學校呢？
TALER: Hey, Elliott, where’s your goblin?
泰勒：嘿，艾略特，你的小妖怪在哪呀？
MICHAEL: Shut up.
邁克爾：閉嘴。
STEVE: Did he come back?
史蒂夫：他回來了嗎？
GREG: Well, did he?
葛列格；說呀，回來沒？
ELLIOTT: Yeah, he came back. But he’s not a goblin. He’s a spaceman.
艾略特：沒錯，他回來了。但是他不是小妖怪，他是外星人。
GREG, TYLER AND STEVE: Ooooh!
葛列格、泰勒和史蒂夫：哦——
He was from the other side of the universe. But he’d figured out how to open Elliott’s refrigerator. And he found a can of something that looked…pretty good. Beer. To him, it seemed…perfectly harmless.

雖然是個從宇宙的另一邊而來的生物，但是他卻弄明白了如何來打開艾略特家的冰箱。並且他發現了一聽什麼東西——看著還挺不錯。是啤酒，對他來說……嗯，沒什麼害處。
Meanwhile, on the other side of the town, in Elliott’s biology class…
此時此刻，鎮子的另一頭，艾略特的生物課上……
TEACHER: Today we will be doing the actual frog dissection…and you will find many similarities.
老師：今天我們將做真青蛙的解剖實驗……你會發現許多與之相似之處。
Elliott found one. The fog reminded him of E.T.
這讓艾略特產生了一個念頭，青蛙讓他想到了E.T.。
ELLIOT: Run for your lives, back to the river, back to the forest. Run! I want to save you! Let’s get outta(out of) here!
艾略特：逃命吧，回到河裏去，回到樹林裏去，快跑呀！我要救你們！咱們離開這兒！
And all the frog got out of there – out of the window, out of the door, and down the road.
所有的青蛙都逃了出去，從窗戶、從門，跑到了街上。
TEACHER: …Let me handle this…let me handle this…
老師：……我來處理……讓我來處理……
At home, E.T. found a newspaper. And the comic strip really caught his eye. There it was, a spaceman had built a communicator, to phone home.
家裏邊，E.T.找到一張報紙。漫畫欄目吸引了他的注意，上面畫的是一個太空人架起了一台通訊裝置用來與家鄉聯繫。
Then Gertie came home to watch her favorite TV show, when something amazing happened.
之後，歌蒂回到家看她最喜歡的電視節目，就在那時，令人驚異的事情發生了。
Gertie: B…B…Biscuits
歌蒂：B……B……餅乾。
E.T.: Beeeeeeee – Beeeeeeeeeeeee.
Gertie: You said B. Good.
歌蒂：你說了B。很好。
And that wasn’t all he learned to say: When Elliott came home. E.T. had a surprise for him.
他會說的還不只這些，艾略特回到家後，E.T.讓他大吃一驚。
Gertie: I taught him how to talk now. He can talk now.
歌蒂：我剛教了他如何說話，他現在會說話了。
Elliott: E.T., can you say that? Can you say E.T.? E.T.
艾略特：E.T.，你會說這個嗎？你會說E.T.嗎？E.T.。
E.T.: Eeeeeee Teeeeeeeee – eeee teeee, ee tee, eee teee… eee teee…
And he had one more thing to say, something very, very important,
另外他還學會了表達一件事，一個極其重要的意思，
something that the whole world would someday soon remember.
這應是某一天會被全世界一下子記起的事情。

E.T.: E.T. phone home.
E.T.：E.T.聯絡故鄉。
Michael: My God, he’s talking.
邁克爾：天啊，他在說話。
E.T.: Home…
E.T.：故鄉……
Elliott: E.T. phone home?
艾略特：E.T.聯絡故鄉。
E.T.; E.T. phone home.
But some people were listening in on their own phone…
而此時，卻有一些人，用他們自己的設備在監聽這些對話。
Elliott: Now I wish I would’ve listened in science.
艾略特：我現在真希望我上自然科學課的時候好好聽了。
Michael: Grab that fuzz buster.
邁克爾：把那個發動機拿過來。
E.T. built his own communicator out of the fuzz buster, some hobby pins, a knife and fork, and the UHF tuner from the TV set…
E.T.用那個發動機、一些曲別針、一把刀子和一把叉子，還有一架電視天線等東西，建起了他自己的通訊裝置。
Michael: You know, Elliott, he doesn’t look so good anymore.
邁克爾：艾略特，你知道嗎？他的氣色看起來沒那麼好了。
Elliott: Don’t say that! We’re fine!
艾略特：別這麼說！我們挺好的！
Mary: Why, Tink,. …
媽媽瑪莉亞：為什麼，叮叮鈴（彼得•潘裏的小仙女），……
While Mom was reading Gertie a bedtime story, Elliott cut his figure on a meaning-looking saw blade…
當媽媽在歌蒂睡前給她講故事的時候，艾略特被一個樣子難看的鋸齒劃破了手指頭……
Elliott: Ouch…Ouch!
艾略特：哎呀……好疼！
Mary: It was poison and drank it to save my life! Tink, dear Tink, are you dying?
媽媽瑪莉亞：這是毒藥，你為了救我竟把它喝了！叮叮鈴，我的叮叮鈴，你不會死吧？
E.T.: Ouuuucchhhhh…
E.T.：好——疼——
E.T.’s figure lit up, just like his heart, and a mysterious light healed Elliott’s cut.
E.T.的手指閃起了亮光，同他的心光一樣，這種神奇的光芒治癒了艾略特的傷。
Mary: Do you believe in fairies? Say quick that you believe.
瑪莉亞：你相信神化傳說嗎？相信的話就趕快告訴我。
Gertie: I do, I do, I do!
歌蒂：我相信，我相信，我相信！
Mary: If you believe, clap your hands.
瑪莉亞：如果相信，那就拍拍你的手。
Halloween night, Elliott and Michael dressed E.T. in a sheet…like a ghost.
萬聖節之夜，艾略特和邁克爾給E.T.套了塊兒白布……像個幽靈似的。
Elliott: Ready?
艾略特：準備好了？
E.T.: Ready.
E.T.：好了。
Mary: Oh, you look great.
瑪莉亞：哦，你們看起來太棒了。
…and they took him out on the street…and guess who he saw – a familiar friend from a galaxy far away.
……於是他們把它帶到了街上來……猜猜他瞧見誰了——從遙遠的外星系來的一個朋友，看著多眼熟。（E.T.看見了一個裝扮成外星人樣子的人）
Michael: Be back one hour after sunset, no later.
邁克爾：太陽下山後一小時之內要趕回來，不要再晚了。

Elliott: I’ll try as fast as I can, Mike.
艾略特：我儘量以最快的速度，邁克。
Elliott rode to the forest with E.T. in the basket of his bicycle. E.T. thought the ride was too slow and bouncy…
艾略特，車筐裏帶著E.T.，向樹林騎去，E.T.覺得騎自行車太慢又太顛了……
Elliott: It’s too bumpy. We’ll have to walk from hee-ere! E.T.!
艾略特：太顛了。我們只好從這兒開始走了！E.T.！
…So E.T. raised the magic figure of his and gave them a lift…
……此時E.T.伸出了他那神奇的手指，他使他倆飛了起來……
Elliott: Not too high! Not too high!
艾略特：別太高了！別太高了！
The bike soared into the air, over the treetops, high as the birds can fly, and higher.
自行車飛向高空，飛過樹梢，飛得和鳥兒一樣高，更高些了。
…across the great silver moon they flew, beautiful and free.
……飛過似銀盤的明月，多麼美好，多麼自在。
E.T. and Elliott, soaring in the air, like birds. Wonderful…
E.T.和艾略特，像鳥一樣飛翔在空中，太美妙了……
Elliott: Don’t crash please…Whup!
艾略特：千萬不要摔散了呀……哇！
Then, out of the lonely forest, E.T. set up his communicator, and pointed it at the stars…
而後，寂靜樹林裏的一片空地上，E.T.架起了他的通訊裝置，並讓它指向星空……
…his strange signal beamed itself out, into that place in the sky where night is forever
他奇特的信號發了出去，發向無限的黑夜。
Elliott: E.T., it’s working.
艾略特：E.T.，它發出信號了。
E.T.: Ohhhhh.
Elliott: Home.
Elliott: You did it! It’s working.
艾略特：你成功了! 它起作用了。
Elliott:: We have to go now, E.T. We’re so late already.
艾略特：咱們必須走了，E.T., 我們已經晚了。
But no one returned E.T.’s phone call to the stars. Back at Elliott’s house, the net was closing in. Science had discovered his hideout in the closet upstairs.
可是沒任何人回應E.T.向星際發出的呼叫。再回來看看艾略特家的情況：羅網已開始布了下來。科學研究者已經發現樓上的壁櫥就是E.T.的藏身之處。
That night, Elliott and his friend slept in the forest..
那晚，艾略特和他這朋友就睡在了森林裏。
At dawn, when he woke up, E.T. was gone.
天亮了，當他醒來時，發現E.T.不見了。
Elliott, sick with fever, returned home for help.
艾略特，發了燒，回家尋求幫助。
ELLIOTT: You’ve got to find him, Mike.
艾略特：我們得找到他，邁克。
MICHAEL: Where’s he?
邁克爾：他在哪？
ELLIOTT: In the forest…the bald spot. You’ve got to find him.
艾略特：在樹林……空地。你一定要找到他。
Michael found the little guy, his face down in a steam, his body gray all over, gray as ash.
邁克爾發現了那小傢伙，他臉朝下泡在溪水裏，全身發灰。
Michael gently carried E.T. back to the safety of their home – then snuck him upstairs and laid him down on the bathroom floor. Now it’s time to tell Mom…
邁克爾小心翼翼地把E.T.帶回按說該是安全、隱蔽的家中——又悄悄地把他帶到樓上的浴室裏，將他放在地板上。現在該是告訴媽媽的時候了……
MICHAEL: Mom, would you come with me?
邁克爾：媽媽，你能跟我來一下嗎？
MARY: What is it?
瑪莉亞：什麼事？
MICHAEL: Mary, just come with me.
邁克爾：媽媽，就過來一下吧。
MARY: Michael, what?
瑪莉亞：邁克爾，什麼呀？
MICHAEL: Mom, remember the goblin?
邁克爾：媽媽，還記得小妖怪的事嗎？
MARY: Michael, what are you talking about?
瑪莉亞：邁克爾，你到底在講什麼呢？
MICHAEL: Just swear the most excellent promise you can make.
邁克爾：先以最鄭重其事的態度發個誓。
She couldn’t believe what she saw.
她簡直不敢相信她的眼睛。
MARY: …that’s terrific…
瑪莉亞：……太不可思儀了……
E.T.: Mommmmmmmm…
E.T.：媽—媽—
Her hand went limp, the coffee spilled from her cup.
她的手發起抖了，杯中的咖啡灑了出來。
ELLIOTT: We’re sick, I think we’re dying.
艾略特：我們病了，我覺得我們可能會死的。
MICHAEL: Mom, it’s okay.
邁克爾：媽媽，它沒什麼可怕的。
MARY: Get her downstairs.
媽媽：把歌蒂帶到樓下去。
Gertie: He’s not gonna(going to) hurt you. Mom.
歌蒂：他不會傷害你的，媽媽。
MICHAEL: He’s not gonna(going to) hurt you.
邁克爾：他不會傷害你。
MARY: Michael, get her downstairs!
媽媽：邁克爾，帶她到樓下去。
GERTIE: It’s the man from the moon! The man from the moon!
歌蒂：他是從月亮上來的人，月亮上來的人。
Sealed in white protective space suite, the military, the government, scientists and doctors invaded Elliott’s house. They had zeroed in on E.T. and turned the place into a laboratory and hospital.
用白色防護太空服把自己封得嚴嚴實失的軍方人員、政府人員、科學家、醫生闖進了艾略特家。他們全瞄準了E.T.，簡直把這兒變成實驗室兼醫院了。
A huge plastic envelope came down, covering the entire house, and medical teams moved in on the little guy.
一個巨大的塑膠罩罩了下來，蒙住了整座房子，又有好幾支醫療隊的人也都是沖著小傢伙來的。
DOCTOR: Would you say it has the ability to manipulate its own environment?
醫生：你的意思是說它有使自己四周的事物受控於己的能力？
MICHAEL: He’s smart, he communicate through Elliott.
邁克爾：他相當聰明，他通過艾略特和外界溝通。
DOCTOR: Elliott thinks his thoughts.
醫生：艾略特想其所想？
MICHAEL: No, Elliott feels his thoughts.
邁克爾：不對，艾略特感其所感。
They hooked him up to all kinds of machines. But he was fading, like a star at morning.
他們把各種各樣的儀器全都連在他身上，然而他就像黎明的星光一樣，光芒漸逝。
ELLIOTT: You’re scaring him. You’re scaring him – leave him alone. I can take care of him. E.T.
艾略特：你們嚇著他了。你們嚇著他了——都到一邊兒去。我可以照顧他。E.T.。
E.T.: Stay… Elliott… stay… stay… stay…
E.T. ：不要離開我……艾略特……呆在我身邊……呆在我身邊……不要離開我……

But E.T. was going, where no one could follow. His star-fire was out and he was as cold as the moon.
然而E.T.卻在漸漸離他而去，去了沒人可以一同前往的地方。他那如星光般的火花熄滅了，他的身體像月亮一般冰冷。
NURSE: The creature’s pressure is bottoming out, his complexes are slow and widening.
護士：此生物的血壓快消失了。從綜合指標看，他的心跳很慢，而且越來越慢了。
DOCTOR: All right. I’m calling it. What time is it?
醫生：好的，我正注意這個呢。現在幾點？
E.T. was gone.
E.T.離去了。
DOCTOR: Fifteen hours and thirty six minutes… Okay, let’s pack him in ice.
醫生：十五小時零三十六分……好吧，把他冷凍起來。
So they placed E.T. in an coffin of ice, but left Elliott alone with him, because Elliott was the one he’d come to, across the great ocean of time.
於是他們把E.T.放進一隻冰棺材中，而留在那兒陪他的只有艾略特，因為他穿越了浩瀚的時空所來見的人正是艾略特。

Then a miracle! Elliott noticed E.T.’s wilted flower was moving. A light opened up in E.T.’s heart, growing brighter and brighter! From orange to yellow to white!

The scientists put E.T. into a medical van, they didn’t even notice when the guys lurked aboard.

BLACK OFFICIAL: Your’re driving? Open the door son.
黑制服官員：你在駕駛？把門打開，孩子。
MICHAEL: There’s guy out here…what do I do?
邁克爾：外面有個傢伙……我該怎麼辦？
ELLIOTT: What are you waiting for? Let’s go!
艾略特：你還等什麼？開車呀！

MICHAEL: But I’ve never did it forward before.

Michael screamed to his friends -

E.T. was riding in Elliott’s basket, bouncing up and down again…with the world at their heels.
E.T.又在艾略特的車筐裏隨著自行車上下顛簸起來……然而似乎有一世界的人在他們身後緊跟、向他們逼近。
ELLIOTT: FOLLOW ME!
艾略特：跟我來！
But Elliott and his partners could ride. The police chased them through the streets, but the kids knew the alleys.
不過艾略特和他的夥伴們都駕輕就熟。員警都從大路上追趕而至，可孩子們卻對小街小巷一清二楚——
COP: This is unit 302.We’ve cut the kids off at the bottom of the hill…

ELLIOTT: Hang on!

TYLER: We made it!

That’s what they thought. In came the road block, cars and men, police and guns – the net closed once more. E.T. and his friends had run out of time…
他們剛這麼想呢，路障就出現了，又是汽車又是人，又有員警又有槍——羅網再次向他們收縮。對E.T.和他的夥伴們來說，形勢危急萬分……
…and up they went, E.T. and his pals, up over the road block, up into the sky, wheeling over the rooftops, sailing over the valleys, higher and higher…flying in the sky. E.T. and his pals.

Wow…And there it was, the most beautiful thing in the whole world, the ancient spaceship--coming slowly down…

Where would E.T. go? His home was far beyond the milkyway, out past the farthest star we see, where only the great ships of space can roam.
E.T.會去哪里呢？他的家鄉遠在銀河系之外，比我們能看到的最遠的星星還要遠得多，只有最棒的太空飛船才能在那裏漫遊。
Would they ever see him again?Where would he be?

A feeling of sadness and joy filled the air,as they watched E.T. approach the ship that would take him home.
在悲喜交加的氣氛中，他們目送E.T.向那接他回家的飛船走去。
The hatch was open,the crew was waiting.E.T. looked at his friends one last time,picked up his flower pod and walked into the ship.
船艙開啟，船員在等待。E.T.看了他的朋友們最後一眼，拿起他那盆花兒，然後登上了飛船。
The hatch closed,the ship lifted off,up into the sky,trailing a rainbow—E.T.’s rainbow.
船艙關閉，飛船離地，飛向天空，留下一道彩虹——E.T.的彩虹。
